This painting was inspired by a tree in my yard, the golden trumpet, which endured storms that left it contorted and broken. I thought it lost, but with care, patience, and time, it returned stronger, more grounded, and more vibrant than ever. Now, it has become a sanctuary for life — every day, a pair of cardinals returns to its branches, bringing color and joy to the yard.
When I created this portal, I was reflecting on resilience — in nature, in ourselves, and in life. The tree reminded me that even after hard times, with attention and nurturing, growth continues. Life thrives again, often more beautiful than before. Like the branches in this painting, we bend, we endure, and yet, we rise.
